The aim of the course is to provide students with the underpinning knowledge and skills to operate as efficient front office personnel in the hotel industry and in business establishments.

Course Content:

Reception Operations, Customer Relations for Hotel Reception, Hotel Reservations and Accounts, Communications, Tourism Awareness, Office Technology and Front Office Skills, Business Management, Word Processing, Work placement is an integral part of the course.

Entry Requirements:

Leaving Certificate/LCVP or FETAC Level 5 or equivalent. The academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants (21+).

Certification:

FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Hotel Reception Operations (subject to approval). Advanced Diploma in Reception Operations and Services 7067 City and Guilds (subject to approval).

Progression:

There are great opportunities for employment and promotion in the ever increasing hospitality industry world-wide. Graduates are expected to enter employment as competent Front Office Operators leading to Front Office Management in the Hotel Industry and in Business establishments. They can also progress to Institutes of Technology and Universities through the Higher Education Links Scheme and may gain exemption from year one of some of these courses.
