This course provides an introduction to all aspects of radio broadcasting. It is designed to provide a foundation in the practical and personal skills required for a career in radio and for further study.

Course Content:

Radio Programme Production, Sound Engineering and Production, Communications, Work Experience, Media Analysis, Political Studies, Event Production, Legal Studies

Entry Requirements:

Five passes in Leaving Certificate/LCVP or a merit in Leaving Certificate Applied or FETAC level 4 Certificate. The academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants (21+).

Certification:

FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Radio Production (ERPXX)

Progression:

Graduates are eligible to apply to progress to Higher Education Courses through the Higher Education Links Scheme and through the Pilot Scheme. Graduates with a merit profile may apply for entry to BTEC Higher National Diploma Courses in BCFE.
