Higher National Diploma In Business
Course Code BHND, Duration: 2 Years
This is a broad based business diploma course which offers students underpinning academic
knowledge and business skills. Major emphasis is placed on the development of personal and
technical skills required for success in the business world. The learning is student centred and
involves a good degree of work-related assignments.
Course Content:
Accounting, Management, Marketing, Business Law, Economics, Human Resource Management, Business Strategy, Enterprise Development, European Business, Quantitative Methods, European Language, Management Information Systems.
Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate / LCVP with a minimum of two HC3s and three passes at ordinary level including passes in English and Maths or FETAC level 5 Certificates with a merit profile including FETAC Level 5 Mathematics. The academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants (21+).
Certification:
BTEC Higher National in Business
Progression:
Graduates may apply for entry to the ordinary degree in the Institute of Technology Tallaght, the 2nd year of Degree programmes in the Dublin Business School, Portobello College and Griffith College and the 2nd year of the Certificate in Business at the National College of Ireland. Students may gain exemption from year one and in some cases year two of relevant degree courses in the UK.
